Student mental health doesn’t need to be a worldwide crisis

The mental health crisis among students has become a significant concern in recent years, with increasing numbers of students reporting high levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. In 2021, more than 4 in 10 (42%) students felt persistently sad or hopeless and nearly one-third (29%) experienced poor mental health. More than 1 in 5 (22%) students seriously considered attempting suicide and 1 in 10 (10%) attempted suicide (CDC). Research has shown that academic pressure, especially in high-achieving schools, is a significant contributor to this crisis. Our team at Cramly is addressing the student mental health crisis head-on by offering tools and resources to alleviate the heavy workload and academic pressure experienced by students worldwide.

Students that experience mental health issues fall into a vicious cycle that is nearly impossible to break out of. The current U.S. school system tests students in a one-size-fits-all manner in order to compare students on an apples-to-apples basis. However, this is like trying to fit round pegs into a square hole as every student is different. Our rigid manner of education sets up students for failure and the pressures of achieving high marks on tests and assignments in a pre-set curriculum can push some students, especially more creative ones, to spiral into a depressive state of inadequacy and failure. Unfortunately, students that begin to feel helpless in their ability to perform often miss classes and assignments. They fall into a vicious cycle and their mental health continues to deteriorate.

We created Cramly with the mission to help all types of students navigate through the rigidity of our current educational system. Cramly’s AI-driven school resources help students save time on drafting papers and tackling homework so they can pursue their innate passions and talent to the fullest. When students are able to see small successes in life, unhampered by the growing academic pressures of school, they are able to thrive and turn passions into careers. Thousands of students have thanked us for helping them work through challenging times during their academic careers and create pockets of time for them to explore their passions (e.g., creators, entrepreneurs, and more). With each step, Cramly is driving a revolution in student mental health and providing much needed reprieve to students overwhelmed by schoolwork.
